The first feature you’ll notice as you start playing is the Tumble. This clears winning symbols from the grid to let others take their place. The process repeats for as long as you’re landing winning combos. When no new combos appear, you play the next spin.

During the base game, you’ll see marked spots behind some symbols at random. Should you make a win on top of those spots, you trigger one of the five modifiers. They activate when the Tumble sequence at play ends.

Gems Bonanza Bonus Features

The central Gems Bonanza bonus feature is the Gold Fever Progressive. Whenever winning combos explode during the Tumble, they fill a certain position in the Gold Fever meter, the one with the totem. If you collect 114 winnings symbols in it, the meter gets filled and launches the Gold Fever Progressive. But the feature can also be triggered with the Bonus Buy option, for an additional bet of 100x the stake.
