Lordi Reel Monsters Online Slot Game Design
Lordi’s visual style is very much marred in the traditions of both heavy metal and Nordic history, and Play’n GO has done a good job of capturing that on the reels. The slot has an almost cartoonish and larger-than-life feeling to it. It shares some similarities with another recent Play’n GO rock-themed slot – Alice Cooper and the Tome of Madness. In fact, Play’n GO has really started to develop a knack for developing fun rock-themed titles.
The band’s lead singer, Mr Lordi, stands on the left-hand side of the reels, while a misty graveyard creates a suitably heavy metal backdrop. The other band members appear on the reels and burst into life in later stages of the game. Of course, Hard Rock Hallelujah provides the soundtrack for the game, and frankly, it would have been rude had it not.
How to Play Lordi Reel Monsters Online Slot
Lordi is far from a conventional band, and as such, it is only fitting that the slot based around them does not stick to a traditional format. The game uses a Cluster Pay mechanic instead of the standard payline setup. There are seven reels and seven rows in the game, meaning 49 symbols tumble onto the grid on every spin.
As with most Cluster Pay symbols, the slot uses a Cascading win mechanic. All winning clusters disappear from the reels and more symbols then tumble down. This will continue until there are no more winning clusters left on the grid.
The slot can be played for real money, with players able to adjust the stake using the sliding scale at the bottom of the screen. The minimum here is £0.10 and the maximum is £100, giving this a healthy betting range.

Whenever players land a winning combination – the symbols are collected in the Demon Meter on the right-hand side of the grid. Once they hit 15 symbols and the wins stop, one of four features will be randomly activated:
- Mr Lordi. Random Wilds are added to the next spin.
- Hella. All symbols except a couple are destroyed and replaced with Wilds.

- Reel Monster. A 1x Multiplier is added and increases with every winning cascade. Two monster modifiers are added to the spin as well.
- Better Hate Than Never. Winning Wild symbols are collected instead of normal symbols and three modifiers are added. All Wilds are then added back to the reels once the winning cascade is finished, triggering more wins.
