Quickspin are known for their stunning graphics, but Mighty Arthur, despite the best efforts and the theme that offers a lot of potential, isn't one of their best achievements. The card symbols are shiny while the main symbols are cartoonish and dull, so the game actually resembles classic slots. Merlin Random Wild and Arthur Expanding Wild save the day, as the animations they bring to the table are absolutely gorgeous.
Arthur Expanding Wild is a 3x1 symbol that appears on reel 3 only, and it expands to neighbouring reels so it can result with a 3x3 Wild at the middle of your board. Merlin Random Wild is also a 3x1 symbol but it can appear on all reels, and when it does appear it will generate 2 to 6 additional Wild symbols placed randomly on the reels. Both Arthur and Merlin can appear in the base game and the free spins game. Difference is, in the base game they have a chance to nudge into position, and in the free spins game they will always nudge into position.
The free spins are triggered when you land all three Bonus Scatters, as they only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. You'll get 10 free spins, and the fact that Arthur and Merlin will always nudge into position and will end up appearing fully stacked is rewarding enough to serve as the only additional feature during the free spins game. And it's in the free spins game where you'll get most of your big wins.
